Click for more detail... TECHNICIAN CLASS LICENSE Galesburg IL I moved from Kewanee IL in 1990 to Pittsburgh PA. I lived there for 10 years, I worked in the commercial feild of communications for 9 of those 10 years. I moved to Manchester CT in 2000 and worked in commercial communications there as well for 5 years. I received my Amateur Ticket 10/18/2000.I left communications career for three years, and worked in the evironmental feild for 3 years. After a family emergency brought me home in March 2008-I decided to stay in IL and not return to CT. I got intrested in packet after reading an atricle. I decided to get started and self taught myself. I then joine CT ARES and was a packet operator at the Hartford Armory, and at the Rocky Hill VA home during drills. I really enjoyed packet, and I am going to miss it. I also did TCP/IP nodes using digipeaters and had QSO's around the world. I have not up graded my license as yet, and do not have HF, or SSB gear. I am just as happy for now on the local repeaters, but I will be looking for a 6m rig soon. Thanks to my neighbor, W9OBG Wally, he loaned a 10meter USB rig so I could get on 10 meters, and I have been having a ball. It is a Ten-Tech Scout 555. It is running QRP at 5 Watts. I am still looking for a rig of my own, preferebly used, that will do all mode, all band. But until then-I am on 28.345, and 28.385. I miss 6 meters, but 10 is a lot of fun! See you all down the log. 73 for now! Thank you, W. Dean Stoner Last modified: Mon Jun 15 08:35:39 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content? If so, Report this page... |
