When I was nine years old, I built a crystal radio set my parents had given me for Christmas as a Scouting Merit Badge Project. I was intrigued by the many broadcasts received from all over the world; this got me starts as a SWL. In the 70s, a few of my friends from High School and College got me into CB Radio. During this time, built many kits and home brewed several HF Receivers and Transmitters. Finally, the seed was planted that led to a Novice license in January 1985; today, I'm a holder of an extra class license.
