I use a Kenwood TS 480 HX Mobile with various Hustler ant. This picture shows the home made mount. They are hard to see, but there are three grounding straps from the toolbox to the bed of the truck. HF mobile I opperate on 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 40, and 80 meters. 10 meters is a whip. 12 meters is a Hustler standard resonator. The rest are Hustler super resonators. I do not us an antenna tuner. But on10-20 meters the swr is acceptable across the respective bands. 20 meters being the one that I had to tune for the general protion. 40 and 80 meters are another story of course. Both are limited to a narrow portion of the band, 80 more so than 40. HF mobile opperation is fun and challenging as drive across the wide open spaces of NM.
