Hello, my name is Derek.  Thank you for looking at my QRZ page.

I was first licensed in March of 2007 as a Tech, then quickly upgraded to General in August of 2007.  Been having lots of fun in the hobby and still continue to learn and pursue new ends of Amateur Radio.

Here is a list of my station equipment:

Antennas:  40m inverted-vee, 20m inverted-vee, Solarcon A99 vertical, Cushcraft A144-11, Homebrew J-Pole.

Radios:  Kenwood TS-440S/AT, Yaesu FT-857D, Yeasu FT-2800M, Alinco DJ-196T and a Alinco DJ-V5. 

Other:  MFJ-207 SWR Analyzer, MFJ-259 Antenna Analyzer, MFJ-949B Tuner, RIGblaster Plus Interface, and Heil Proset 4 Headset.

I usually monitor  444.325+ PL110.9, 444.655+ PL136.5, and 146.655- PL136.5

Also a certified spotter for the NWS.  Active in storm monitoring/spotting here in C. Iowa.
