I'm Bob McHale. I live in the Holland Patent, NY, about 9 miles (14 km) north of Utica, NY, and 56 miles (90 km) east of Syracuse, NY. Just got relicensed in 2011 after many years off the air (last contact was July 12, 1975). Started in 1969 as WN1MGI in Boston, MA, and eventually WA1MGI. Got interested again and glad I did!

Using a Yaesu FT-950. Pushing 100 watts into a Cobra Senior Ultralight (folded dipole) about 35 feet up in the trees. An MFJ-993B acts as the feedline/rig transformer. Very impressed with how the rig, tuner, and antenna are working. More DX and strong signal reports than I've ever heard/received in my prior operating! !

Also using an FT-7900 with a Diamond Discone up about 25 feet for VHF and UHF for local repeater work.

QSL Cards: LOTW and eQSL are great. Incoming DX bureau is good, too. For direct--no SASE required if USA! I get one, I'll send one--count on it! I guarantee I'll reply to all QSLs received and requested.

Having fun and that's what it's all about. Now to build something with vacumm tubes like I used to!!
