I have experimented with many different facets of the hobby over the years. RTTY, Packet, and CW are a few of my favorite modes though I now favor SSB. My favorite operating practice in the past has been QRP and Satellite, but I am presently found operating DX on 20/15 meters and tinkering with APRS.

I originally got my license to provide VHF communications during my mountaineering days climbing Mts. Rainier, St. Helens' and Baker in the Cascades. Two meters assisted me many times during my climbs and has been a great companion.
