Catch me on 440, 2 meters, 6 meters and all HF bands. I have no particular place to operate except on HF where you can find me in the AM windows mostly on 75/40 meters, the lower end of 10 meters and the upper end of 10 meters on the repeaters or simplex. In the process of setting up an APRS station with IGateway capabilities. I'm on SSTV occassionally, maybe an SSTV simplex type repeater/internet gateway [ISSTV] on 20 meters sometime in the future! Mainly just monitoring 14.230 mhz for the time being.

Now active on GMRS. If you are in Central NY, whether you reside here or just passing through, give a call out to WQJK414, our GMRS callsign. Usually the radio is scanning 22 channels, so pick a channel and call out.

A GMRS repeater will come once the economy improves. Check back for more info.

**NOTE**..this operator and echolink node was formerly located in Elizabeth City NC...moved to Mohawk NY on 9/01/05..AND now have relocated to Ilion NY [9/03/06].**NOTE**

Checkout www.echolink.org for voice over IP...linking repeaters and indivdual simplex linking stations all over the world. The node number here is 56703 and locally operating on the KC4QLP repeater on 145.290mhz as part of the local gateway to the Echolink system. Input frequency is 147.535mhz with a PL access tone of 203.5hz. Currently using a separate receive antenna until I get time to build a duplexer, so the receiver is a bit deaf at the moment. So if you are unable to bring up the system, try higher power and or a directional antenna aimed at the valley repeater. If you are trying to connect to the nodes, 56703, 56704, 89052 via Echolink, please connect ONLY to the *KC4QLP-C* conference server, node number 290251 or *KC4QLP* conference server 267137, IRLP Reflector exp0037, D-Star Reflector XRF267. Nodes 56703, 56704 and 89052 do not allow multiconferencing. Trying to connect to any other node other than the conference servers will result in a busy message for you.

General information regarding RF nodes: 56703, KC4QLP-R 145.290/+ offset of 2.245mhz, PL access 203.5hz and transmitting a PL of 77hz, TPO 15 watts, antennas - Ringo Rangers at 20 feet AGL, 408 feet ASL.   56704, KC4QLP-L will soon be a gateway to Echolink from 10 meter FM simplex and will be connected fulltime to our conference server.....stay tuned! (Frequency considered will be 29.500mhz)

I spend whatever time that I do have outside of work and family on 75 meters or Echolink talking to a long time friend of mine.....http://www.qrz.com/callsign/n4tok

*WX_TALK* Hurricane and Tropical Storms NETS...in LISTEN ONLY MODE ON ECHOLINK CONFERENCE SERVER *KC4QLP-C* NODE #290251. See Echolink-Open-List Yahoo Group for information regarding net activations.

( *SPECIAL NOTE FOR ECHOLINK CONFERENCE SERVER USERS* ...Absolutely under NO cirumstances must your repeater / link,  send CW and voice ID's, TONES, BEEPS and other NOISES from the RF side to the internet side of the VOIP links. If your node is improperly configured, do not connect until this is corrected. Improperly configured nodes will be disconnected until properly configured. Nodes that do not properly configure their systems for whatever reason and continue to connect to the servers will be ban. This system is part of the IRLP and D-Star networks which strickly forbid nodes from sending "NOISE" generated from the RF side :ie CW and Voice ID's from your Repeater/Link controler, Tones, Beeps and other noises. Also do NOT bring in or start nets on the servers without prior permission. To do so will get you removed from the system. The conference servers are not a "broadcasting system". HF traffic other than from 10 meter FM should not be put on the network unless prior arrangements have been made and a control operator is present. "Broadcasting" one way HF traffic is forbidden, and "broadcasting" such traffic will get you kicked off of the network. See www.midatlanticengineeringservice.com/kc4qlp.html for further details. )

The *KC4QLP* & *KC4QLP-C* 10 Commandments of operation.

2. Thou Shall not Connect to more than one Conference Server or other stations at a time

4. Thou Shall Keep all overs to a maximum of 4 Minutes

5. Thou Shall Not Force other Links or Repeaters into a multi-conference.

6. Thou Shall Listen on a Clear Frequency before attempting a Connection to a remote station.

7. Thou Shall Listen for at least 10 Seconds before transmitting after connecting to a remote station.

8. Thou Shall always announce ones Call Sign before sending DTMF Commands to a System

9. Thou Shall inhibit DTMF tones from being transmitted though the IP Network.

10. All Commandments are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

LPAM, which stands for Low Powered AM. This group is part of the movement to bring about encouraging the FCC to develop a low powered AM broadcasting service, simular to LPFM, except to make this service a commerical broadcasting service.[ See RM-11287, the petition that is on file with the FCC ]. The group is not about pirating or part 15 broadcasting, but only about RM-11287, LPAM proposal.

---- Ham radio pet peeves of mine are ----

---- 1. Ham operators that do not keep up with the current rules and regulations ....otherwise known as PART 97.

----- 2. Hams that do not follow the rules in part 97 [ noticing that the ID every 10 minutes rule is out the window with a great number of ops anymore...plus IDing does not cut it by just giving your call sign in "cute" phonetics and not in plain letter/number/letter(s) format ].

----- 3. Hams of any class that does not know the difference in types of interference received, whether it be from a malfuncting transmitter or front end over load and knowing that front end over load interference ISN'T illegal!

----- 4. To sum up the above examples and basically calling them all LIDS!

73 for now
