I was first licensed in 1989 as a novice, set my goal to work for an extra class ticket within a year and was able to accomplish that. I have been actively on the air for 27 years and really enjoyed this hobby. Served with Navy Marine Corps MARS for over 20 years and served as Tennessee area coordinator for two years. Favorite modes are PSK 31, RTTY, and JT 65. Do enjoy a few single side band contacts, and some RTTY contesting. All for fun! I upload my logs to LOTW, E-QSL, and QRZ. If you would like a paper card just drop me one and I'll be happy to return one.
My station is made up of Ten Tec equipment, the transceiver is an Omni VI Plus, amp is a Ten Tec Centaur, and a Ten Tec automatic antenna tuner to match the radio to a Force 12 C-4 beam up about 50 feet, a Butternut HF6V vertical, and dipole antennas for 160 and 75 meters. I also have a ICOM 706 MarkIIG as backup radio. Just added a Flex 1500 QRP, fantastic little radio! I have been enjoying a lot of JT 65/JT 9 contacts using the Flex 1500 with 3 W of power into the Butternut vertical. Never thought QRP could be so much fun.
