Hello Fellow Amateur Radio enthusiasts worldwide,

My name is Richard Maier and I use Rich in everyday life. I was born in California but realistically am a Wisconsinite. My home and station location is in Rothschild Wisconsin (you will find Rothschild in the center part of Wisconsin). I was first licensed as a Novice in 1975, with the callsign KA9CUN, I upgraded to Advanced in 1977.

I received my education in Electronics at the North Central Technical Institute in Wausau WI. I work for Sentry Insurance as a Project Coordinator in the Corporate Services Department. I am also involved in National Ski Patrol at our local ski hill(Granite Peak), A Fire fighter/Emergency Medical Technician at Weston Fire Department.

I have been active in Amateur Radio since licensure and very involved in designing, installing, and maintaining VHF and UHF mountaintop repeaters, remotely controlled base stations, and linking systems. I am the Emergency Coordinator for our county.

I am married and my wife's name is Lynn. We have two children, of which the oldest started graduate school in 2002 and the youngest started college in 2003. Thanks for your interest in my profile, and I hope we contact each other on the radio in the future(IRLP 4380) .
