My background includes Broadcast Radio, sixteen years as a Public Safety Communications Operator, Law Enforcement Officer, Supervisor and Manager. I finally settled on a career in Information Technology. where I've been working since 1995.

Although I've been involved in communications in one way or the other for most of my professional life, Amateur Radio has to be the most fun!

I'm having a BLAST!

I enjoy working nearly all aspects of Amateur Radio, especially HF Radio and FM Amateur Radio Satellites. . . . Did I mention I enjoy working satellites?

I'm a Past President for the Raytown (Missouri) Amateur Radio Club.  I'm presently continue as a member of their Board of Directors:  http://k0gq.com

I'm the founder, and presently the National Coordinator for the CenturyLink Employees' Amateur Radio Club:
http://www.centurylink.com/arc

I'm part of the Hams in Space team, providing presentations at clubs and hamfests on how to work the FM Amateur Radio Satellites: http://hamsinspace.com

Also, check out my personal web sites at: http://www.purplesage.biz and http://www.kd0hkd.com

73 and Have Fun!

My radio club, the Raytown Amateur Radio Club, K0GQ teamed up with the Radio Club of the National World War I Museum, WW1USA to host a Special Event Station and ARRL Field Day on their grounds. The first video, produced by Steve Martin is made for the Museum to announce the special event stations. The second video, produced by JD Dupuy, highlights the Raytown Amateur Radio Club at the National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial in Kansas City on June 28/29, 2014. My hat is off to Steve and JD for producing such outstanding videos!
