Thanks for looking at my QRZ page! I am a new Ham (2011). I never had the time or money to pursue this hobby until my late 50's. As a child I was very impressed with my uncle John (K3GXV) now SK, who I think mainly operated AM. I was fascinated by his gear and his enthusiasm; he is the reason I decided to become a ham.
I passed the technician and general exams in July 2011, and passed extra 3/17/12. I enjoy operating SSB on 40, 20, 17, 12, and 10 meters (when the band is open), and CW on 20, 30, and 40. I received the ARRL Worked All States award in 2013, now working on the DXCC. I'm trying to improve my CW skills to get beyond 20 WPM, I seem to be stuck at that speed. If I have a QSO with you on CW please realize I've only been doing CW since March 2012, so I hope you are patient and forgive errors. I learned on a straight key but now I'm using an iambic paddle. Rig is a Kenwood TS-2000, an Ameritron ALS-600 solid-state amplifier (for phone contacts) and a Buckmaster 7-band OCF dipole at 50 feet. I have a Rigblaster interface and have been making some PSK31 QSO's. I use LOTW and eQSL, and I do reply to all QSL card requests. Hope to meet you on the bands or the waterfall and 73, good Dx.
