October, 2009- KN4ZZ has sold me an amp.  It is a Kenwood 922A.  Puts out 1500 wats on the lower bands.  It is a nice one.  I went and saw his excellent station when I picked up the amp.  Thank You Wiley!

September, 2009- Gosh its been a year now since my General upgrade.  I just put up a 600 foot loop antenna.  Recieving great reports on all bands. DX reports have been good as well..  On 20 meters my beam still rules.  I can load the loop on all bands and will be reporting more soon.   Thanks for looking and please sign my contact log!

December, 2008 - Hi, Thanks for looking and bearing with me. I recently upgraded my license to General in September 2008. On air I am a little "stiff" with my QSO's at this time. I expect to loosen up soon. I started out with a Yaesu FT 101 given to me a long time ago. After the third time it broke down I did too and purchased a FT 920. Now my station consists of the FT101 with a MFJ 941 tuner and the FT 920. Either are fed into a G5RV up about 45 to 50 feet or a 40 meter half square. I have put up 55 feet of Rohn 25G tower with an Alliance HD73 rotor.   I bought a used KLM KT34 Tribander and put it up my tower.  That was a LOT of work!  The KLM appears to be OK, as I am getting good reports.  I was able to work K5D on 15m when I could not even hear them on my G5RV.  I am able to work stations I cant hear on my G5RV on 15 and 20 meters.  There is a 2 to 3 S-units gain front over back.

I have put a 40meter Half Square antenna.  It is fed in the corner with 450 ohm ladder line .  It is situated NW to SE.  I am trying different heights with the tips of verticals anywhere from 10 to 30 feet off the ground.  That makes the horizontal portion up around 40 to 60 feet.  I hung it from the tops of the pine trees in the pictures.

I have recently been active on digi modes and have made many contacts on psk31, psk 63, rtty and Hell.  Thanks for the QSO's

QSL info, I'm collecting! Please QSL direct, buro or LOTW.

my best 73  Dave

It snowed on March 2nd!!!                                                                                                     This poor girl listens to all of my QSO's

Hawk at 11 oclock!                                                        Lucy is tired of listening to QSO's

A better look at the KT34 60 ft up with G5RV under.  Note lots of tall trees to hang wires from.
