hello: as you can see I am into clasic gear I started building heathkit kit back in 73 and kept them in business for years untill there demis now I have to be content with finding old rigs and restoring them to there previous glory.I was in the airforce communication service in the 70s and later got my radiotelephone 1st class but kept putting off going for my hamm ticket untill the mid nintys I operate quite a bit on 10meters and six I have recentlly started to operate on some of the lower hf bands 60mters and 80 primaraly I run an assortment of rigs including Icom 745 yaesu 757 a kenwood ts430s heathkit seneca some cleggs a lafayette or two and even some converted cbs but I mostly love to get my hands on a rig and bring it back to life.In the last few months I have aquired a heathkit marauder two apaches a mohawk and a warrior amp the marauder had been sitting in a barn for about 10yrs and had a multitude of problems the apaches were found at a garage sale and were worse off than the marauder the mohawk I bought from a friend it had been built by someone very inexperienced so I rebuilt It and added the mods to make it a fine receiver I just got the warrior and am looking forward to puting it on line. Ill be looking forward to meeting up on the bands 73 Tom.
