First licensed in 1981 as KA5LDS and upgraded QUICKLY to KD5FX a little later that year. I lived in Ponca City, OK until 2009 and had two different ham stations there. Worked lots of DX from the first one when I had a 40 ft tower with Mosley TA-33 (10/15/20 mtrs) on top. Also had a Mosley TW-22 (12/17 mtrs) for awhile but then the solar cycle died and I didn't use them much. Sold them both just before moving across town to another house where I couldn't put up a tower. So, I built a Hexbeam (10/12/15/17/20 mtrs) and put it up about 20 ft, it worked very well! You can see pictures of the antennas I've used over the years including the current gutter antenna at my website on www.kd5fx.com, look under pictures and then ham related. Currently I'm in Katy, Tx, land of the HOAs! No towers or even antennas allowed here but I do have a 104 ft random wire up about 15 ft and often put up my FX Tenna portable vertical for 20 thru 6 meters out in the back yard. Details on it can be found here:http://www.kd5fx.com/FXportable/fx_portable_antenna.htm Rig is a FLEX-3000 with a Heil HM-10 mic or a Heil headset. Backup rig is a 1992 Kenwood TS-850S/AT. Also can be found on PSK-31 from time to time. A member of the ARRL A-1 Operator club. (http://www.arrl.org/a-1-op) The picture is me operating W1AW back in 2008.
