Click for more detail... Although I didn't get around to getting my license until 1999, I've been interested in amateur radio since I was old enough to wind a coil and tune a cat-whisker crystal detector almost 50 years ago. I was trained in radio repair and as an operator in the US Army in the late '60's and spent a tour in Korea with some of the Army's antique RTT rigs ["State of the art" in 1951 when my unit arrived in Korea]. I like to work community service events and have served as NCS for Sports Car Club of America ClubRally events [a form of semi-off-road of racing]. I've completed Skywarn training and will support ARES activities in a Denton & Collin Counties [just north of Dallas]. Current member of ARRL, Red River Valley ARC [RRVARC, Paris, TX], Dallas ARC [DARC, Dallas, TX], and Lake Area ARC [LAARK -- Lake Lewisville area -- Lewisville, The Colony, Little Elm TX]. I look forward to getting Code and General licensing done this year and being able to fully able to support emergency operations. I am currently most active on the air at commuter drive-time on the DARC repeater, 146.88. Last modified: Fri Jan 9 08:48:11 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content?
