Been on the air since 1969, many different qth's since then, back in the 90ies I had my shot for contesting when I built up the W2A station with my good friend Mike N2TX, yes a pair of crank up's in the burbs of LI, 9 yagis all on my 1/3 acre plot in South Setauket, I'd like to see another station like that do so well!!! Must be something in the soil here on LI but I was able to design fairly closed stacked yagis on 10,15&20 with 4 over 4 over 4 on 10 mtrs 85' at the top, 5 over 5 on 15 mtrs 75' at the top, 4 over 4 on 20mtrs 92' at the top, 3 element 40ty at 72' and phase inverted vee's at 80' on 75mtrs. That station must have played cause we hold three first place placks for CQWW M/SPhone contests for 96,97&99 and a few ARRL DX Phone contests as well. All I can say it was lots of work but total fun times until the assisted living complex started building right behind my back yard all lawyered up !Moved qth's two times since then and back in July 2009 we move to a 1+acre plot with no qrn due east (yes 700acre's of ole RCA property behind us and its a state park!) and just got up a pair of 40mtr phased verticals so were back in the game also SE/NW delta loop. On 75 mtrs. I have an inverted L with elevated radials and 20 mtrs. a 5/8th wave vertical .Main interests are dx and rag chew on 75&40 mtrs, playin with new antennas (thats buildin them and having all the fun) some contesting, astronomy (another nerd hobby), drinking a good bottle of wine at the Long Island wineries with my wife and enjoying Long Island summers on our 19ft boat. If you wanna laugh Google Big Guns Contests Club or try ezoom.net/w2xx/w2aa.htm and maybe those pics will inspires some of you guys that wanna build a competitive station but don't have a 5 or 10 acre plot, just work with what you have and Just Do It just like the Nike add's! I will try to get a pic of the station and the pair of phased verticals before we move outa here, yes the wife wants to move up state, wants to be closer to the kids (youngest in her 1st year of college) and maybe I'll get my 2-5 acre's for antennas. At this time we are running a FTDX3000 xcvr, AL-80B amp, MFJ 989D tuner (when needed) and a PR-781 mic.

Seeya on 40 or 75 meters.

BTW my old calls I've had WN2ITR,WB2ITR,KE2NL and now KE2TR, the pic above was taken in 1999 when I had all the yagi's up and that qth was 5 miles inland from LI sound. New QTH is 3 miles inland, sorry no water shot, elevation for both qth's around 150' above sealevel.

73's

Jim
