Hi Im KE3LB John aka Jack been in the hobby 20 yrs started in 1993 with my novice FCC license as KB3AKN then studied for the technician and advanced class license in that same year and was issued the call KE3LB .As of Feb. 2013 upgraded to Amatuer Extra Class .Contacted 192 countries DX HF SSB. Also work satellites fm AO27, SO50, AO51, SO67 ,HO68 with the help from the internet and AMSAT satellite prediction pages, and heavensabove.com,nice how AMSAT worldwide works to get amatuer satellites in orbit for ham radio operators to experiment with, lots of fun with arrow yagi 2 meter 440 antenna on camera tripod for portable use also house set up with yaesu ft8800r radio and 2meter and 440 elk antenna in a rotor on the garage roof fixed at 20 degrees works good for low earth orbit (leo) fm satellites also have M2 eggbeater 440mhz satellite antenna on the back porch roof with a AR 270 cushcraft 2meter 440 fm antenna. Contacted 202 U.S.maidenhead grid squares and 12 dx grids on the satellites plus the International Space Station which was very exciting to contact Col. Doug Wheelock aboard the ISS on his mission in Sept of 2010 also another interesting contact for my station was the scientific research station McMurdo Station Ross Island Antarctica KC4USV on high frequency 20 meter band. HF antennas are Cushcraft R7 vertical,102 ft wire centerfeed with 450 ohm ladderline ,multiband folded dipole 10 thru 80 meters I purchased from W9INN sk many yrs ago and still transmitting also made 10 to 40 inverted v 66 ft feed with 450 ladderline and a 20 meter inverted v homemade feed with coax with a mfj 969 roller inductor tuner for my other station in living room so I can be around and not always in shack with the icom718 hf radio and the w2ihy 8 band audio equalizer. other rigs are icom 7410 not in photo just recently purchased and the icom745,yaesu ft60r, icv8, ic228h, ic2gat,quansheng 2m 440m and yaesu ft 8800r .Also listen for Islands on the Air contacted 202 of them nice to chase the islands on the air plus always try to keep updated on all Dxexpeditions.I was the special event station operator on the satellites in july 4 2011 for the 13 colonies special event representing Pennsylvania which was alot of fun.Started digital communications PSK31 on 12/20/11 worked 43 countries and 35 states amazing how far 25 watts and a laptop running 2.0 Digipan with a signalink interface connected to the radio for digital communications amazing how only 25 watts and a piece of wire travels the world.Hope to copy you on the waterfall Just had to add in is started digital slow scan with EASYPAL in october 2013 nice mode..Thats about it from here .Hope someday to do a real interesting Dxexpedition to some remote exotic island in the caribbean or south pacific guess thats everyones dream to .ok 73 and good luck dxing. email jmoncak@yahoo.com
