Click for more detail... I am active mostly on the HF bands. My band of choice is 75 mtrs. but I do roam occasionally. I also have 2 and 6 mtr. capability but rarely use those bands. My favorite activity on amateur radio is a good old fashioned rag chew with my friends. I do enjoy DXing occasionally on the higher bands when the mood strikes me. My station is nothing fancy, an Icom 756Pro driving an SB-220 Heathkit amplifier which feeds power to the antenna through a Heathkit SA2040 tuner. The antenna system consists of a short run of RG8 out to a Centaur 4:1 ladder line balun which in turn feeds the 80mtr. doublet @35ft with 450 ohm ladder line. This antenna system tunes from 6-80 mtrs. and performs very well for me. Thanks for reading, catch you on the air. 73 DE KE4ZHN Last modified: Sun Nov 1 03:14:54 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content? If so, Report this page... |
