73 to everyone and hello from Centralia WA! FYI my station QTH is actually in Thurston County. Centralia proper is within Lewis County but I am out in the country over the Thurston County line. (The only thing Centralia here is the mailing address and the school district.)

I am Donn Gallon and I have been an amateur for over 2 years now. I am a Supervisor with the Transportation Security Administration

At home I have a basic station set up with both an ICOM 746 Pro and Icom 751A radio with a LDG AT 200 Antenna tuner going into either a Hustler 6 band vertical antenna set 20 feet up on a pole or a G5RV oriented towards the SE centered 35 feet up. when I want to go old style I have an Atlas 210X that I set up and operate with.

My entire log is current on LOTW to 23:59Z November 22, 2009.

My entire log is current on EQSL to 23:59Z October 25, 2009.

All QSL cards have been mailed to 23:59Z  October 26, 2009.

Other amateur radio and radio oriented organizations I belong to include:

United States Army MARS (Military Affiliate Radio Service)

American Radio Relay League

Northern California DX  Foundation Inc.

South Sound Composite Squadron (Civil Air Patrol) Washington Wing

Baw Faw Repeater group running the Baw Faw Repeater (SW Washington) 147.060 (+110.3) (Elected Board member Mar 2009)

Chehalis Valley Amateur Radio Society (Meets 1st Wed in Chehalis WA)

Olympia Amateur Radio Society (Meets 4th Wed in Olympia WA)

City of Centralia ARES group

Straight Key Century Club #4469

Columbia Basin Net (3960khz 6pm PT)

Digital Modes Club #2221

I am working on my 5 Band WAS and DXCC awards.

My WAC arrived dated 16 April 2009! Thanks to six lucky contacts that counted for my first IARU award.

My WAS certificate arrived Sep 5 2009!  Thanks to my 50 state contacts who got me there to complete my WAS quest. Now it is time to get my 5 band WAS going!

DXCC I have over half of the 100 required countries verified and am looking for a bunch more. 71T/8A/63Q (total / A Awaiting QSL/LOTW verification/ Q QSL or LOTW received)

Verified Countries: Alaska, Argentina, Aruba, Asiatic Russia, Australia, Azores, Barbados, Belize, Bonaire-Curacao, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Desecheo Island, Dominican Republic, Estonia, European Russia (LOTW), Falkland Islands, Finland, Germany, Greenland, Guam, Guantanamo Bay, Haiti, Hawaii, Honduras, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Lithuania, Madeira Islands, Marquesas Islands, Martinique, Mexico, Midway Island (LOTW), Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Northern Ireland, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal (LOTW), Puerto Rico, Saint Martin, Serbia, Slovenia, South Cook Islands, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turks and Caicos Islands, Ukraine (LOTW), United Nations HQ-New York (LOTW), USA, Venezuela, US Virgin Islands.

I did get the highest points award for Thurston county WA in the 2008 Washington State Salmon run contest, my first time contesting! I'm hoping to repeat in 2009!

DX is one the most exciting aspects of the hobby. I rate talking DX as equal to the emergency service enjoyment I get out of powering up the radio. If I have not talked to you I look forward to meeting you over the airwaves.

I will QSL anyone direct, keep those cards and letters coming! If you wish to send SASE or GS it is appreciated but not required. I consider the QSL as a personal thank you for the contact.

Contesting is a good thing and hopefully we will increase each other's score some time in the near future.

My new QSL card has been issued. it is a winter scene from my QTH and is currently being sent as my QSL of record.
