Click for more detail... 07/28/2001: Just received my vanity call sign: ke7mbl in the mail. It is my third call sign issued by the FCC. The call signs were and are: KAMI 8792,KD7DMS, KE7MBL. Yesterday 14 October I have made contacts 10 different contacts on the two to ten linked repeater here in Spokane, Wa. On 14 & 15th of November 2001 I have been lately getting qsl cards from my contacts on ten meters I enjoy getting these cards from other hams. On the 22nd of December went to a birthday party in honor of a gentleman named Regie (W7ROL) who is the oldest ham in the Spokane area and had a great time. Yesterday we lost another ham here in Spokane. Her name was Ruby which suffered a stroke two months a go. She passed away Thursday evening. Her callsign is WO7C and she will be missed. Today I just uploaded my latest photo taken of me at the Spokane Hamfest 2004. away Thursday evening. Her callsign isWO7C and she will be missed. On June 22 2002 I perticipated in field day with the KBARA group and fun. 10 meters was lousy and could only here the stations but no luck in contacting them. On the 17th I purchased a six meter radio with the model #5054DX made by Ranger communications INC. but soon I will be on the air with it and hope to make some new contacts with it.Three weeks ago I aquired a new radio which the price was brought down where I could afford it. Last night I made contact with a ham in Perth, Australia through Echolink for the first time and had very nice QSO. Thursday I worked 6meters and worked a station in Ma. and the callsign is: wa1nyv and the man's name is Bill Smith and KBARA Group held field day this past weekend. It is an ICOM 706MKIIG all mode all band transciever which I still exploring it. It also gives me a reason to upgrade my lisence. On the 10th of Sept I submitted my callsign to the 911 net along with other hams to be read on the 11th of September the anniversary of 911 on the attack on this country. I also been using the echo link with my computer. Echolink is great to use without the knowledge of morse code. On the 27th of Sept I participated in the Spokane Hamfest manning the talk-in frequenseies to help the hams locate the Hamfest here in Spokane, Wa. and had fun. I plan to doing it again next year. The way I did it was to use two different radios on one anttenae with a switch between them and it worked great. On October 17, 2003 I was involved in a auto accident in Wyoming. It turned out that some hams in Douglas, Wy. got word back to Spokane, Wa. using a combination of echolink and radio to get word back here in Spokane. So for that reason I'am sold on that mode of commuication. My priorities for the ham hobby is for emergency first and ragchew second.Today I recieved an qsl card from Portsmouth, Ohio from a contact which I made in November 1999 so it goes to show snail mail is real slow.Today I also contact with a Ham Radio Club on the island of Saipan which is the Pacific Ocean and to get a qsl card from them.In September of this year I will be getting married to to a very fine lady named Bobbie and it will be my first. I met her two years ago. Bobbie wants be a ham also. The photo above is of me in my uniform taken at our wdding last September 2007.
