Click for more detail... Old radio operator new Ham. Ground Radio Operator with the USAF from 1958 til 1978 when I was forced to cross train to Command & Control. Retired from USAF 1982. Worked point to point and air to ground voice & CW Weather intercept in Morocco, Japan, Phillipines Taiwan Viet Nam & Turkey. Worked tech control with HF long haul Phillipines and RVN. Worked point to point & Air to Ground n support of geodetic survey in British Guiana, Marshall Islands and Ethiopia Also worked HF Tech Control on mobility at darn near every Army Base and many USAF bases during the late 60'sWorked tactical SSB long haul net in Germany for 6 Years. Came back to the States in 1978 and worked as a Command & Control Spec at the MAC Command Post McChord AFB WA. Started building a shack and setting up equipment in December 2008 and about "goter done" on the inside any way. Antennas are a verticle for 10 meters, ISOPOLE 440 for 2 meters, an OCF Windom up 30 feet (the best) a TAK Tenna and a fan doublet under construction for HF. Equipment is a Kenwood 480 hx ON HF and a Yaesu 2800 on 2 meters. NOTE: Passed my Extra Class exam 17 June 2009. Hoo ray !
