June 1, 2009: I built my first CB radio from an Allied Knight Kit in 1967. My life centered around Electronics and Computer Science in a career for 35 years. Now, just enjoying the fruits of semi-retirement and a renewed interest and excitement in Radio! My Base radio is a Kenwood TS2000 (May 26, 2009). It seems the radio with a Heil Dual Traveler headset is doing great for now. Reports from many contacts near and far have confirmed it's performance. I'm happy!
A Carolina Windham 80 went into service as my primary HF antenna on June 9, 2009. It is flat-top at 36ft in height. Initial feedback is very positive so far. No pictures yet, can't seem to get 35ft tall poles separated by 140ft of distance to show up very well! My play space
This is my old Yaesu FT-107M, bought in 1984, used. Still works. Energizer bunny has nothing compared to this old beauty! D104 is mid 70's vintage. Now relegated to retirement.
