Hello, I'm Brad. I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Applied Networking and Systems Administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester NY. I was VP of the RIT ARC during the last year of my time there.
I do IT work for a living and I'm currently an Enterprise Storage Admin. I enjoy hiking in the summer, winter or whenever, snowboarding, mountaineering, etc. I also brew my own beer and enjoy making my own speakers and electronic gadgets as well. My fiancee and I have a beagle-collie mix named Sophie and in the fall to spring we also foster dogs for a local dog rescue. I also have my own Davis Vantage Vue weather station which uploads to wunderground.com.
My current, and ever changing setup, currently includes an Icom 746PRO and a G5RV@80ft, 10m dipole, and a 33ft vertical for 40-6m. I have a Yaesu FT-7800R for the car. Also have a RS Pro-106 digital scanner as well and a Yaesu VX-170 for portable 2m work that also comes hiking with me.
I enjoy HF work, DX, and basic VHF/UHF repeater work, but I am mostly interested in QRP/low power operation. QSL direct or the bureau.
Here's some pics to give you a better idea of who I am and what I do...

Winter 2014 in Upstate NY. This was taken in my front yard. We got close to 3ft of snow. What a great winter!
This is Sophie... She's a Branch Manager. She collects sticks, strips the bark and twigs and leaves them in a pile for me to pick up... how nice of her.
