Born and raised in Southeastern Massachusettes I moved down to South Florida in 1993. I now live in Homestead, FL. close enough to the speedway to hear the races. I have two sons and three daughters (all adults now) a grandson and a wife that should be ordained a saint.

I work for the largest ambulance company in the world and have the distinct pleasure in managing the business unit in Miami.

I have always had a keen interest in communications from the days of the "Archer Space Patrol Radio". When I was 12 I joined a volunteer ambulance and rescue squad in Fairhaven, MA. as the "assistant radio officer". That is where my career started. I became Deputy Director (18 years) for an EMS system in Massachusettes and then moved to Florida to try my hand in private industry.

In October of 2007 I passed the Extra exam. I became a member of the Palmetto Amature Radio Club, the C3I Amature Radio Club and the International Radio Emergency Support Coalition (IRESC). Joining these organizations made me truly regret not pursuing my Ham Radio interests sooner. What a remarkable group of people! I am proud to be associated with them. I am currently studying CW to keep with in the tradition of amateur radio.

I have added (via ebay) a used Kenwood TS 440 AT to my arsenal. My antenna is an inverted v (home-made) tuned to 40 meters. I was honored to have my first QSO on HF with Charles, NA5CC on 4/3/08 @ 18:30 UTC. Freq. 14.347.10 usb. Charles, 73 and thanks for your hospitality!

You can find me at the 3905 Century Net on 7.178.00 (very organized & friendly net, my compliments!) and working Bpsk on 20 and 40 mtrs.

I enjoy collecting QSL cards and currently using eQsl, the 3905 Century bureau and I QSL direct.

"I never realized how big this planet was until I became an Amature Radio Operator." steve.t
