ABOUT THE SIX SHOOTERS

A little over five years ago, a small group of amateur radio operators in San Diego's east county, who had been operating on 6 meters simplex as their primary mode of operations, thought it would be a neat idea to try to form a club, dedicated to promoting the virtues of the 6 meter amateur radio band.

From a ham shack in an apartment in El Cajon in April 2001, the simple ground work was laid for a new club to be called The San Diego Six Shooters. We had no idea what we were doing or how we'd get the word out, but one thing we weren't lacking was enthusiasm. And riding that enthusiasm, we have witnessed the birth and the emergence of an organization that today, enjoys a membership from throughout all of Southern California.
