I suppose you're here to find out a little about me. I earned my license in April of 2009. I got interested in ham radio for emergency type communication and other long-range communications while outside of cellphone range. I now find that I like to volunteer at various events where communication is needed.

I am frequently on the Carolina 440 link system. I do most of my work mobile from my truck. I have a Kenwood D710a attached to a Avmap G5. The A side of the 710 runs APRS while the B side is on the 440 Link system (UHF). I also have a Kenwood TM-217A 2m radio in the truck as well. I use this mostly for when I'm out storm spotting. I have that radio on the SKYWARN system while I talk to my weather base station team on the UHF system.

I have assisted with many local HAM volunteer events through the Carolina Helping Hams group.
