***** 51 Years Licensed 1963 - 2014 *****

Novice class licensed as WN4RXS in West Palm Beach, Florida, while a sophmore in high school. Radioman 2nd Class USCG Reserve 1970-73 in Riviera Beach and Jacksonville, Fl. In 1974, as a Meteorology graduate from Florida State University, I worked on the GATE Program based in Dakar, Senegal, West Africa. I operated as WA4RXS/6W8 along with a team from the University of Wisconsin. Thanks to Jacques, 6W8DY,  who helped with the licensing. I also operated maritime mobile on the RV Gilliss (U of Miami) during the experiment. Enjoy chasing DX, contesting, tinkering with antennas, anything Antarctica, Museum Ships and Lighthouses .It was a blast re-discovering the hobby in 2009 (using my 1960's vintage Swan 260 and 18AVT vertical) and being "radioactive" once again! I upgraded from Advanced to Extra Class in 2010. Made significant upgrades to rigs and antennas per below. In 2011 I joined up with the NQ4I Super Station, in Georgia, through my ham buddy of 50 years, Mark , W4SVO now sadly an SK. I have been the 20 and 15m mult (some run) operator in the CQWW SSB and CQWPX SSB Contests 2011-2014. Recently, mult op in CQWW CW test. Great bunch of guys with Rick as the super host for these events. Member: Florida Contest Group (FCG), Marion Emergency Radio Team (MERT)
