Hi, and thanks for stopping by. My name is John Ashley Newell. I use the name John on HF and CW for simplicity, and use the name (my Mother calls me) "Ashley" locally.  I was first licensed as a Novice (5 wpm CW) - KC4KWN in 1989, and made my way to Technician, General (13 wpm CW), then finally Advanced class by mid 1990 and received the call KN4NN.

My shack is a portable building near the base of the tower. It doubles as my cartridge reloading room and gunsmith shop.

My rigs- IC-746 , IC-7000, and Midland syntech II commercial radios for 6m / 2m / 70cm FM

I have an Ameritron AL-84 & Heathkit SB-200 amps and SA-2040 tuner.

I enjoy Digital modes (rtty, psk, hell, jt65, jt9) on HF/VHF and chasing grids on 6m & 2m.

Antennas include a 70ft tower, A3S tri bander (10-15-20m), M2 6M5X (6m), M2 2m12 (2m), and dipoles for 30, 40, 80 & 160m.

There are also multiple verticals on 6m, 2m and 70cm for FM.

Memberships- Ten Ten #52295, EPC #6257, 30MDG #1981

Awards - DXCC, WAS (digital,rtty,& mixed) , VUCC # 1977 (125 grid endorsement)

I normally don't send QSL cards by mail, but will return one if sent. I QSL 100% via LOTW and eQSL.
