In the contest CQ WWDX 2013 I ran 10 watts in 80M only. My antennas were 4 ele wire beam to EU and 2ele wire beam to USA. Make 3er place in high power assisted  (no bad for almost QRP sta.).
Next cqww (2014) I will run 10 watts again but change my antennas maybe I make better.

I been a ham for over50 years. Enjoy trying and operating different radios and building my own antennas. I am mostly a SSB operator, but a little CW,RTTY and AM is fine too and also like to buy and trade gear from time to time (DRAKE COLECTOR). I Been operating mostly QRP the last 20 years. Some of my friends call me by my KE nick (KANGURO EMPLUMAO). Former president and co-founder Of the biggest ham radio club of PR (FRA).

Natural de Aguadilla PR Graduado de las escuelas de: San Antonio,Montaña, Jose De Diego, Colegio Universitario de Aguadilla Y RUM. Obtiene su licenencia de Radio aficionado en el 1962. Se enlista en el ejercito americano en el 1968 sirviendo en la guerra de Vietnam en el 1969,1970 y 1971.

Miembro de la ARRL desde 1965 Y desde 1972 life member. En el 1973 regresa a PR y le otorgan los indicativos KP4EFP ganando varias competencias internacionale. En el 1975 viaja a USA y cambia de indicativos a KP4FP. En el 1980 regresa a PR y termina sus estudios universitarios Trabajando en la Universidad de PR recinto de Aguadilla y Profesor de Judo en la universidad de PR recinto de Mayaguez (RUM old CAAM). Actividad en la radio limitadas a concursos locales y en sur america

Regresa nuevamente al mundo de las competencias logrando varios primeros lugares en competencias locales ye internacionales En el 1993 viaja a Japon con los indicativos 7J6ACT gana el ARRL 10m contest en la categoria mixta en el 1996. En el 1997 obtiene los indicativos 7J6ADV participando como estacion oficial en los juegos Olimpicos de invierno en Nagano Japon 1998.

En el momento mantiene marcas mundiales el WWDX contest Categoria QRP en:  Banda de 20 metros logrado en el 2001 (KP4KE)  Banda de 80 metros logrado en el 2003 (KP4KE) Y Banda de 160 metros, mantiene todos las marcas de norte america en todas las bandas. En el 2000 Su marca Mundial mas imprecionante es en el ARRL 10 METERS CONTEST SSB QRP en el 2002 Con antena de de 9 elementos a 80 pies de altura. En la banda de 160 Metros la Banda mayor. En la dificil categoria de QRP y low power Tiene records mundiales en el CQ 160 contest. Ant. 4 ele.verticales. Y en la ARRL Dx contest tiene el word record en QRP en CW y SSB.

Su pasión son los equipos Drake, los cuales tiene pequeña colección Todas sus antenas son construccion casera a muy bajo costo. 5 ele 15 y 20m dualbander 4 ele carga lineal para 40m. y 2 de 3 ele wire beam para 80m y su equipo de competencia por lospasados 25 años un ICOM IC-751A modificado con 20w de salida, otro IC 751 con 3.7 watts y un FT 301S QRP La invercion en la estacion de competencia no sobrepasa los $1k.

Win the CQ WWDX 2011contest 1st place in the world in Low power category using only 3.7 watts was a chalenger.
Antennas used in contest9ele for 10m, 6ele for 15m, 5 ele for20m, 3 ele for40m, delta plus double bazooka combination for 80m, 2 double bazookas for 160m and2 invertedL 90 feet high also for 160m

Why my QRP signal is 59+ ? 9 el ant for 10m is the reason. Put your money in ant. no in AMP.
