Maricopa County, AZ

The above picture was taken at 25,000 feet over central Washington state. Lenticular clouds are normally formed above mountain peaks and elevated points of land. Caused by changing wind patterns, temperature variations, and moisture content, they are normally seen as a single cloud or in pairs. Multiple layers are somewhat rarer.

Retired USAF. Vietnam Vet. Flew C-130E, AC-130A, RC-130A, T-37, T-38 aircraft. Major airline retired pilot. Flew Boeing B-737 and Airbus A-319 / A-320 aircraft.

Initial license 1962. Previous calls: WN5DXI, WA5DXI, WB0CCW, WB0CCW/DL, WA5DXI/OA, HS3AJC and KS5A/KH6.

Memberships: ARRL (Life Member), A-1 Op, QCWA, OOTC, Arizona Outlaws Contest Club, CWOps.

Interests include DX, Contests, and some county hunting activities as a mobile.
