Be sure and log into QRZ.com first. The QTH is located on the north shore of Clear Lake in northern Iowa. I have been involved in Amateur Radio for 50 years. I was first licensed in 1959 as KN0THI, then operated as K0THI for 48 years. I then held the callsign N0TLS for 2 years and have recently aquired the call KT0M. Upgraded to Extra Class in June 2007. In addition to Ham Radio I enjoy boating, genealogy, reading and playing Bridge. In 1959 as a Novice, Mason City, IA, using Dad's Hallicrafters SX-71, Johnson Viking 1 and a J-38 straight key.
Our family has a long tradition in Amateur Radio, spanning 4 generations. My father, Roger (SK), was W0AXT, a call now held by my son, Steve. My grandsons are Graham, KC0YGT, and Collin, K0LLN. My home station consists of a variety of rigs. The primary setup is the Yaesu FT-2000, a Toyko High Power HL-1.5K amp and a LDG AT-1000 tuner. For audio I am using an EQplus and a SM-6 mic. The antenna for 80-10 is a 134' doublet, fed with ladder line, up 40 feet, with a "NVIS" reflector at 20 feet. In the mobile I have the IC-706Mk2G, Turbo Tuner and a Little Tarheel 2 screwdriver antenna. This mobile setup works real good. I have enjoyed attending the Dayton Hamvention. This year, 2009, was my 8th trip to Dayton. Had a great time! Looking forward to Dayton 2010. I check into the Eyebank Net on 3.970 most mornings and monitor this frequency on and off during the day. Hope to meet you on the bands and thanks again for stopping by! 73, Tom
