Licensed since 1995, avid QRP operator. enjoy cw, phone and digital. interested in portable ops, emergency communication, antenna building,IOTA and lighthouse activations. I believe this hobby is only as active as we make it. Radiowave propagation and antenna theory have always spaked my interest from an early age.

I am an Emergency Communication for the Maine Department of Public Safety in Gray. I was also a dispatcher for Lewiston-Auburn (Maine) 9-1-1 and started my dispatching career as a fire dispatcher for the University of Connecticut (UCONN) Fire Department. Whether at work or not, I enjoy being at the radio.

My other favorite pasttimes with the hobby include contesting, APRS, emergency communications, fox hunting (radio direction finding) , Echolnk & D-Star. I am hoping that my son Stanley will eventually take his test so that I can pass on my orignal call sign to him (N1URA). I enjoy operating on bands and modes that may not see as much activity (1.2 GHz and 222 MHz FM repeaters)
