Well, I can say it is a long story. A long story beginning in 1970 at the local Radio Club LZ2KPD of my native town. The same story to be continued for many years earning my living as Ship's Radio Operator, wandering around the Globe aboard various vessels - deep sea trawlers, huge crude carriers and cargo and passenger ships as well. Really a nice time enjoying CW, RTTY, Packet and especially Pactor, making a lot of friends. Beginning with the Morse code, continuing with the TCP/IP. Working also as VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) Operator at the local port facilities for almost 8 years in the meantime.
