I've been a licensed radio amateur since January 1995, shortly after my 15th birthday. My early experience in radio was shaped greatly by the mentoring of K1VR, K1HT and many members of the Framingham Amateur Radio Association in Framingham, MA, all of whom helped foster my interest in HF DXing and contesting. I graduated from Haverford College in Haverford, PA in May 2003 with degrees in biochemistry and philosophy. In 2003-2004 I was active as HC1/N1KO and HC8/N1KO, as well as TI/N1KO while traveling in South America doing volunteer medical work. I am currently a rising fourth year medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and will be spending 2007-2008 as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar in residence at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Aside from amateur radio I enjoy road cycling and racing, and photography. My radios include an Elecraft K2/100 DSP and portable HF radio station. The full station, including battery power, 25 amp power supply, rig and antennas all fit into one backpack weighing ~35 lbs. Last modified: 2011-01-22 01:32:21, 1124 bytes fetched
