Greetings from Fairbanks, Alaska! My main operating interests are HF contesting, CW ragchewing, VHF DX, and satellite ops. I also operate the N1TX APRS iGate in Two Rivers as well as the N1TX-3 digipeater in Fox. I am active in the Arctic Amateur Radio Club (KL7KC) and the Two Rivers Contest Club (KL2R). My XYL KL1BE and I also enjoy helping provide support communications during local dog-mushing races, especially the Yukon Quest. My primary occupation has been systems engineering throughout the decades, and I have been involved in telecoms and space-related fields for more than 30 years. I recently moved into management. Since landing in Fairbanks in 1998, I have been working at local satellite tracking stations. Satellite operations is exciting. It is quite challenging to keep a critical, complex operation running well, not unlike a multi-op contest station! When the aurora is active and the HF bands fold, I break out my cameras and get busy outside. KL1BE and I run Light Trekker Studios, a small photo business located in Two Rivers, Alaska. I have lived and traveled around the world. Former calls: KA3HIY, N5EAZ, NA5E, G0CQW, 9H3FS, FP/NA5E, C5/NA5E Memberships: FISTS (#5711), CWOps (#912), QCWA (#33319), AMSAT-NA (#10356), ARRL
