I've been licensed since 1962 when I first became a Novice (WN9JJY). I went through a slew of calls since then, WA9MZX, KA2EJC, N2CLI, WU2X,. WJ9P and finally N2JF. Ain't the vanity call system just grand.

I've been active through most of my ham tenure...mostly on HF for DX and contesting. I also have mobile radios and HT's for local use on VHF and UHF.

I'm also quite active on digital modes including PSK, SSTV and RTTY.

Shokan, NY boarders the town of Woodstock (the famous one) and has an elevation of about 1200'. I have a clear shot in all directions except to the north where I stare directly into the side of a mountain.

The station is as follows: Kenwood TS-590s, IC-7000, Ameritron 811H, MA5B 3 ELEMENT BEAM, X7 BEAM, Carolina Windham, VHF/UHF Diamond Vertical. The tower is up 50'.

Besides radio, my interests include: Shooting, fishing, flying (CAP Pilot), mountain biking, roller blading and scuba diving. I'm also an EMT,fireman and a P.T. Deputy Sheriff with the Rockland County Sheriff's Patrol.

When I find time to work, I am officially retired,I stll am employed in myoccupation as a television Director/Producer .I am currently working on The Katie Couric Show on ABC-TV.  I also am a producer on the New Year's Rockn' Eve Show from Times Square each year with Ryan Seacrest. Prior to that I worked at the CBS Early Show, Entertainment Tonight, Good Morning America and ABC News. Most of those years were spent overseas, primarily covering wars (I've been to 11) and most major world events and disasters.. I've now settled into mindless entertainment news, but nobody is shooting at me. HIHI

My latest passion is competing in Spartan Obsticle Course races. Please look at this link: www.spartanrace.com .I train about 4 days/week but it has gotten me into the best shape I've been in since my college days. (If the traing doesn't kill me first HIHI)
