I've been licensed since 1962 when I first became a Novice (WN9JJY). I went through a slew of calls since then, WA9MZX, KA2EJC, N2CLI, WU2X,. WJ9P and finally N2JF. Ain't the vanity call system just grand.

I've been active through most of my ham tenure.mostly on HF for DX and contesting. I also have mobile radios and HT's for local use on VHF and UHF.

I'm also quite active on digital modes including PSK, SSTV and RTTY.

Shokan, NY boarders the town of Woodstock (the famous one) and has an elevation of about 1200'. I have a clear shot in all directions except to the north where I stare directly into the side of a mountain.

The station is as follows: FT-950, IC-7000, Ameritron 811H, MA5B 3 ELEMENT BEAM, X7 BEAM, Carolina Windham, VHF/UHF Diamond Vertical. The tower is up 45'.

Besides radio, my interests include: Shooting, fishing, flying (CAP Pilot), mountain biking, roller blading and scuba diving. I'm also a volunteer fireman and a P.T. Deputy Sheriff with the Rockland County Sheriff's Patrol (Police Reserve Force).

When I find time to work, my occupation is a television Director/Producer. i am currently working with Entertainment Tonight at CBS TV. Prior to that I worked at the CBS Early Show, Good Morning America and ABC News. Most of those years were spent overseas, primarily covering wars (I've been to 11) andmajorworld events and disasters I've now settled into mindless entertainment news, but nobody is shooting at me.
