House power is backed-up with a 12KW emergency generator, and UPS systems for the computers.

The XYL (N6HWB/x-KA4UGO) and I have been Hams since the mid 80's. We are members of ARRL, South East Repeater Association (SERA) and several local amateur radio clubs. We started with CB in the 60's (KAB4199) for personal communications, moved to UHF Class "A" CB (GMRS - KOM0089) in the early 70's. We were members of Capital City REACT in Atlanta, where we provided communications for various public service non profit organizations in the metro area. We also furnished and maintained 2 UHF GMRS repeaters serving the Metro Atlanta area for REACT and the other volunteer non-profit groups for over 20 years. These were located on the WXIA-TV tower (900' level) and on the Richard B. Russell Federal Building.
