After a 20-year break from Ham Radio, I became active again in December 2011. At first, I worked primarily PSK31 on HF, but for the better part of 2012, I have hooked on the "magic" of 6m and spend most of my time there.

Shack

My primary rig is a Yaesu FT-920. For 6m, I also run a King Conversions SB-220 amp when conditions warrant. I've included a picture of my operating position below. Now that I finally have my desk organized, it time to start hanging maps and QSL cards on the wall!

6m Antenna

My 6m antenna is a homebrew 7-element yagi based on a YU7EF design. It is up about 55 ft on a mast that is strapped to my chimney. That is a Par Electronics OA-50 above the yagi.

HF Antenna

My HF antenna is a Cushcraft R8 vertical installed at the top of a 25 foot utility pole, which I use on 40m thru 6m. Here is a picture:

QSLs

I have found paper QSLs to be more satisfying, so that is my preferred method of QSLing. All paper QSLs are answered as quickly as possible using the same delivery method as the card received. If you QSL direct, a SASE is nice, but not required. I also upload all QSO's to LoTW and eQSL on a regular basis. I am chasing various ARRL awards, so if there is no LoTW match after a month or two, I will probably send you a card and request one in return. Since the LoTW match rate runs about 50%, I still get to enjoy exchanging lots of paper QSLs!
