I live in Kent County, Delaware and am about 30 miles from the Atlantic Ocean near the little town of Houston. Don't blink going though the town, you might miss it. I live in a rural area outside of town and thus can have a tower for my antenna. I was born in 1951 and have been a ham since 1991, passing the extra class exam in 1995, and I give credit for pssing my extra to Bobby, K3PT my mentor, who really pushed me to get the extra license. I kick myself for not getting into the hobby sooner, as I have had a lot of fun with ham radio. I retired from Verizon in 2010 where I worked as a cable splicer doing both copper splicing and fiber splcing new construction and at the last, maintenance of the exsisting outside plant. Prior to working for Verizon, I was employed by a number of the small towns as a police officer, starting on Halloween of 1976 finally leaving that career in 1997 to work for Verizon. My station consists of a Kenwood TS570 with an Ameritron AL-80B amplifier. My antennas are a Hygain TH-5 at 45 feet and a "Cobra Lite Sr" at 40 feet. I work 160 to 40 on the Cobra Lite and 20, 15, and 10 on the Hygain. My back up radio is a Kenwood TS440. I enjoy chasing DX, ragchewing, working some contests with the "1900 Contest Group", fox hunting, and participating in emergency and public service communications. I am a Volunteer Examiner, an Official Relay Station, and an Official Emergency Station. I QSL direct and Log Book of the World. Hope to work you sometime soon.
