Originally licensed in 1999 as a Technician, but wasn't hooked on Amateur Radio until early 2008 when my girlfriend Laurie asked me about some transcievers packed away in a box. We would both quickly find ourselves fully commited to the hobby, both eventually obtaining our Extras, myself in 2009, she in 2011.

Amateur radio has tought me is how to think outside the box and maximize space. As you can see from above, I have limited space for antennas. I had to learn to be even more creative when trying to fit multiple antennas in a 1/3 acre property. I've designed a modular layout so that antennas can be swapped out during contests. In addition to limited yard space, I had limited space for the station. It can comfortably fit 3 operators whom can patch any of the antennas to their operator positions.

I enjoy competing in contests, ragchewing every evening on 1900khz, working amateur satellites and also chasing DX. I am also an active member in the Delaware-Lehigh ARC, 1900 Contest Club, AMSAT and the ARRL.

PY2KW, Nelson Pala was a phys. ed. teacher at Avare' C.E.E.N.Cel. Joao Cruz High School. He eventually became the principal and was admired by parents and students. He taught me and other students the first steps of marching band, volleyball and in the art of Ham Radio.
