Now enjoying retirement in Livingston, Montana near the Bozeman Pass on 7 acres since Oct. 2010 Just got the Steppir DB-36 up on Trylon 64' tower on 9/13/2011. Primary interests are contesting and dxing.

 

First licensed at age 14 in 1957 in Reseda, Ca. as KN6ZQB. Enjoyed the peak sunspot cycle with 4el beam on 10meters in high school.

Went to college in Salt Lake City courtesy of US Navy, then spent 5 years on active duty with the Navy. Operated /MM with Swan 350 on bridge of ocean going minesweeper during our transit from Long Beach to Vietnam and back.

Also spent time in Wash. DC in Navy at NSA/Naval Security Group. at the Naval Security Station near American University.

 

Spent most of my adult life in Washington, DC area with the Federal government as an information technology executive. Active as N3RC in Northern Virginia with PVRC. Here is picture of my high school buddy Al KO7X(ex. K6QPH) at my apartment in N. Va. working Va QSO party in late 60's which got me into contesting.

 

Avid sailor, after retiring I lived onboard Bristol 41 cc cutter and sailed the East Coast and Caribbean for two years before moving back to California.

 

Moved to Mammoth Lakes, Ca .at 8,000', in 2009 (we skied at Mammoth in 2009-2010 fromthe end of Sept. til July 5th!!!

Other passions include road and mountain biking, skiing, flying, SCUBA, tennis, dual-sport motorcycle and travelling.

Member NCCC, PVRC, NCDXC, and Northern Rockies DX Association. Trying my hand at county hunting and hope to put out some counties mobile in the near future.
