I have been off the air for 15years while I was messing around with racecars. Well I am taking a break from that and getting back into radios.

I am an avid DX'er and due to a limited antenna situation in the past I got frustrated and decided to wait till I got to a location where I could put up some aluminum and copper. Well I have the space now. Hopefully I will be putting up a tower attached to the race shop behind the house.

My station is very modest right now.

Clubs:

  • Potomac Valley Radio Club (PVRC)

Rig:

  • ICOM-756 100watts (loaner thanks to Brian ND3F) this rig is amazing hearing stuff I never heard before!!!!

Antennas:

  • 135 ft Off Center Fed Dipole at 13.72 meters (45 feet)
  • 1/2 wave 160 Meter Inverted-V at 13.72 meters (45 feet)
  • Cushcraft A4S Tribander - at 6 meters (20 feet)
  • Cushcraft AP8A 8-Band Vertical - ground mounted

I participate in the CQ DX Marathons

2009 DX Marathon Results: 113 Countries 31 Zones for a total score of 144 points. #17 in the World All SSB!!!! (Unlimited Class due to length of dipole)

2010 Didn't compete due to my campaign for Maryland State Senate

2011 Oh I am Back with the dipole and 100watts for right now*big grin* have big plans

2011 DX Marathon Results: 207 Countries 40 Zones for a total score of 247 points. #14 in the World All SSB / Unlimited Class

Here is a photo of my Cushcraft just above the roof of my house and the pine trees that support the 160 Meter Inverted-V and my Off-Center Fed Dipole.

Me speaking at Congresswoman Michelle Bachman's rally in Washington, DC.

Me speaking during my campaign at a rally in Washington, D.C. where Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is adjusting the microphone for me since I was a lot taller than the previous speaker which was her. LOL.

Me speaking with Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West about politics and how state politics impacted our campaigns. Right when this photo was taken I had just said whatever happens in the future don't disappear.

My 1971 Dodge Dart racing at Quaker City Dragway in Salem, Ohio. This photo if you look closely I am looking at the hood (bonnet) to the left where the pins have popped and the corner of the hood is lifting up at 140mph!
