N4C Special Event Station for the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Chattanooga / Lookout Mountain / Chickamauga - July 13-14 , 2013
The Chattanooga Amateur Radio Club, in cooperation with the National Park Service, will be operating a special event station from Point Park on Lookout Mountain at an elevation of 1,850 feet, July 13 and 14 to commentate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Chattanooga / Lookout Mountain (also known as The Battle Above the Clouds) and Chickamauga. This was the second bloodiest battle of the Civil War, over 26,000 solders lost their lives in these battles. N4C will be operating from 0900 EDST July 13 thru 1700 EDST July 14th.
The frequencies +- 20 kc are:
80 meters = 3.977 MHz
40 meters = 7.275 MHz
20 meters= 14.260 Mhz
6 meters = 50.115 MHz
2 meters = 144.220 MHz SSB and 145.67 simplex FM
DSTAR on 443.150+ and 145.290-
This is a VERY special golden opportunity for HF, VHF, and UHF to contact and promote amateur radio. In addition there will be public demonstrations of telegraphic operations as during the Civil War and today using amateur radio operators to make contacts world wide.
The CARC will have three stations operating on HF, one station on 6 meters (50.115 Mhz), 2 meters (144.220) and one station for DSTAR contacts.
There will be a special QSL to be mailed after the event. QSL via KF4PAF (good on QRZ)
