I was first licensed in 1993 as KE4GNZ (Tech - No Code) and moved up through the license classes to Advanced and received K4GNZ call in Feb 1999. Upgraded to Extra in Oct 2006 and obtained my current call. I work 160 - 70cm SSB,CW, RTTY, PSK31, and FM modes from this shack.

I am a CAVEC Associate VEC (also certified by ARRL & W5YI) and give back to the hobby by helping people obtain their tickets or upgrades. Here is a crew of us after administering a testing session.

My beam is the Mosley TA-63N, which works quite well for those who need a short boom footprint. I recently added the 40m add-on kit. You can see it installed on the beam in the picture below of the vertical. I enjoy chasing DX with it when I can.

My latest homebrew vertical is a 43 ft vertical fed with a home-brewed 4 to 1 unun balun. It is broad-banded and will tune on all bands.

My other hobby is riding my 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad. I am a proud member of the Patriot Guard (http://patriotguard.org).

PY2KW, Nelson Pala was a phys. ed. teacher at Avare' C.E.E.N.Cel. Joao Cruz High School. He eventually became the principal and was admired by parents and students. He taught me and other students the first steps of marching band, volleyball and in the art of Ham Radio.
