AN avid dx'er,.My last antenna IN 1988 was a 20 meter monobander, 10 elements, 128 ft boom, up 116 ft high on a Rohn 80 series tower. This setup was believed to be the worlds largest monobander for 20 meters on a single boom.
My current antenna is a 7 element on a 65 ft boom at 150 ft up. It is an antenna that my late friend VE3GK designed, and is in honor of him. What does N4GNR do for a living??,I put up towers and antennas in the commercial field..and I have a tree service here locally taking down trees near homes, and trimming,,,otherwise, I hunt and fish, hunt and fish, try to get a little sleep. a little to eat. and Ham it up-CHASE DX !!
In 2005, N4GNR was asked to go to Africa to do work with a missionary group, Never Ending Gardens.... In June 2005, I arrived in Swaziland and saw another side of human life in the worlds highest AIDS epidemic. In my spare time, I operated as 3DA0GNR, all licensed by the Swazi government. A tremendous amount of thanks goes to Andy Cory, 3DA0TM, who spent a lot of time with me while operating Andy's gear, from atop a mountain. My call was 3DA0GNR,,,,I had huge pileups, mostly to JA,Asia, and Europe. I had one contact in two days to U.S.
Back in 1988, I was on the team of N2EDF and K2SG/NP1-Navassa Island--Quite an experience !! Now Navassa is # 1 or 2in the most wanted list.

This is when I built my 7 element monobander--65 ft boom, I started out adding the boom at the level you see,(40 ft) and then with my bucket truck, I started adding the elements. I got the elements properly placed, and then strutted the boom vertically and laterally. I kept building the tower to 151 ft while keeping the antenna above the guy cables as they were added. The section of tower you see as the boom is aluminum and 29 ft long. The antenna seems to be about 175 pounds. Tower and antenna put into service in October 2013....
Bottom picture is looking down the boom(65 ft) towards the front of the antenna at 151 feet
This is looking down from 151 feet atop my tower of the 7 el monobander down to the KT34 XA at 60 ft
