Click for more detail... I was born in Pensacola, Florida, but I lived in quite a few places until my father left the Navy and my family settled in Salisbury, NC. I lived there until I went away to school. I attended Georgia Tech from 1976 until I got my BEE in 1982, worked as a digital hardware design engineer for awhile, then returned to Tech for more abuse and an MSIE degree in 1986. I worked in R & D as an administrative support engineer until I "retired" to become a full-time caregiver for my children. I was first licensed by the VE's at Ga Tech in 1985, joined the Tech club, W4AQL, and was active in the programming and installation of the repeater. After graduation, I joined an emergency response team with the Red Cross and got into packet. I set up a packet station in the Smyrna 911 center for the 1987 SET. I resumed the hobby in 2009, after my sons grew up. Now I am involved mostly with ARES, but intend to get into HF as soon a I can set up my shack (or find a nice one to borrow). For my second SET, I operated from the Johns Creek Fire Station in 2009. Currently, I live in Johns Creek, Georgia, and am a member of the North Fulton Amateur Radio League, http://www.nfarl.org/. It's great to be back! Last modified: Thu Nov 19 11:12:33 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content? If so, Report this page... |
