I am currently running a 10-meter beacon on 28.214 MHz, HTX-100 radio, using the commercial Com. Spec ID-8,continuously running 5 watts into a Cushcraft vertical antenna at 20 feet. Please visit my Beacon Web Site:There is a direct link to my Beacon Web Page listed in my user profile. THERE IS A BIG NEED FOR MORE 10 METER BEACONS WORLDWIDE. IT IS VERY EASY TO SET ONE UP FOR VERY LITTLE MONEY. MANY BEACONS ARE OLD CB RADIOS CONVERTED TO 10 METERS AND ARE ONLY USING 2, 3, or 4 WATTS. HERE IS A WORLD MAP SHOWING THE PLACES WHERE THERE ARE BEACONS, AND ALSO SHOWING WHERE BEACONS ARE NEEDED: http://userpages.troycable.net/~wj5o/bcn_world.jpg THERE ARE ALSO SOME STATES IN THE USA THAT NEED BEACONS.HERE IS A MAP OF THE 10 METER BEACONS IN THE USA: http://userpages.troycable.net/~wj5o/Usa3.gif IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SETTING UP A 10 METER BEACON, PLEASE CONTACT BILL HAYS WJ5O AT wj5o@troycable.net .
