Just to get started, I like to go by "JERRY", Gerald seems to formal. I have been involved in radio since I was 9 years old. I earned my first license in June of 2007. In December of 2008 I upgraded my license to Extra and changed my call to a 1X2 “N6BY”. I have been enjoying all aspects of this fine hobby. I have built several wire antennas, Jpoles and rotatable dipoles. Most of my equipment is Icom. I am a member of Northern California Contect Club in good standing. I am also 1 of 4 Net Controls of the 25-25.net, The net runs on Wed nights @ 8pm on 2 meter ssb 144.230 USB it is a rag chew net, come join us it is a great time.. I hang out on K6LRG repeater 147.045 in the morning and afternoon. I also use 147.240 for my mobile operation. In the evening we ragchew on 3.760.00 and 146.475 simplex. I love to operate on RTTY and PSK31 and have particiated in NAQP RTTY & SSB Contests. I also enjoy the K6LRG Contest site, I have enjoyed the work/operator parties we have. I worked my first major contest CQ WPX SSB this was great made many DX contacts what a great time, over 1,700 q's and 1.9 milllion points for the K6LRG team. This is a great group of operators. I finally put a tower thanks to K6GHS for the tip. Also put up a Hygain 3el 20,15 & 10 meter beam thanks to W6OJR. Special thanks to Ken W6OJR & Pete WB6DOQ for all the advice and last but not least JJ N6ARF for all the help and support in rebuilding the beam and to George KJ6CZA and my son K6AMG for helping get it all up on the tower. All works Great and was a huge team effort THANKS to all! I typically like to work DX anytime I get the chance from 80 meters to 6 meters. Work you on the bands!.
