Hi!

I am a second generation ham, getting my first license in 1971. I retired in 2008 as the fire chief of a California valley fire department. I now live in Mariposa County, at 3000 feet above sea level, on the south side of Yosemite National Park.

The rig is an Yaesu FT-950 and the amplifier is a Drake L-4.

My current antenna system consist of the following:

On 10, 12, 15, 17 and 20 mtrs, I am using a SteppIR 3 Element beam on a 55 foot Tashjian (Tri-Ex) crank-up tower.

On 40 and 75 mtrs I am using a Unadilla trapped dipole, with the center at 40 ft, and the ends hang from several of the many pine trees located on the property.

I also have an old Butternut HF6V all-band vertical that I use on 30 mtrs and as a back-up antenna.

That is it from here. I hope to hear you on the air!

73's

Jim
