National Parks on the Air (NPOTA) My logs are uploaded to LOTW!!
I operated from TR14 California Historic Trail/TR15 Pony Express Trail in Hope Valley,Alpine county California then Death Valley Natl. Park NP15 at two sites day one in the valley at 200 feet (70 meters) plus below sea level in CA. Day two I moved to a part of the park that lies in Nevada. I then operated from the Old Spanish Historic Trail TR19 at the Red Rocks recreation area west of Las Vegas,NV. Next was Lake Mead Natl. Recreation Area RC13 then off to Zion Natl. Park in Utah NP59.Day one was near the east entrance and day two was in a campground near the south entrance next to the Virgin River-WR36 so 2 for 1 that day. On the way home stopped at Great Basin Natl. Park NP214 in eastern NV close to Utah border. I had pileups each day. Great fun! Thanks to all who got through. Those who didn't I apologize but my operating time was somewhat limited as to location and regulations. Some photos at the end of my page. Sorry about the ones I couldn't figure out how to rotate.

My age is 67. I also enjoy bicycling (I have ridden the RAGBRAI bicycle ride across Iowa 5 times),, running, backpacking, fishing, and travel. My qth is located about 70 miles(110km) north of San Francisco in the beautiful California "Wine Country". The Pacific Ocean is located about 25 miles(40km) west of here.
The dog with me in the photo was my old dog Molly a Belgian Malinois. She accompanied me on several CQP county expeditions but unfortunately she is a "Silent Key" now.
My current station consists of a Yaesu FT-950 with a Steppir 3 element beam at 15 meters up. I use a trapped inverted vee dipole for 30-40-80 meters. I run barefoot and have never had an amp. (I could use one once in awhile,hi!)
I firmly believe in QSLing but I am known for being a bit slow!! I am currrently working on getting set up on LOTW. Tnx es 73, Fred
As of today 29 January 2014 ALL my logs have been uploaded to LOTW!!!
On 04 June 2014 I had the pleasure of operating N6YEU/4 on Isle of Palms,South Carolina while on holiday with my family. I was able to use the fine station of Steve/AA4V who graciously offered the use of his station to me. This is an IOTA Islands on the Air NA-110 which is part of the South Carolina State Group. This island is just off of Charleston,SC in grid square FM02ct ,Charleston County,CQ Zone 5, ITU Zone 8. I had 328 qsos with 47 DXCC countries and 23 states in just over 4 hours on the air.All qsos were on 17 meter phone. Great fun! I will honor all direct qsls and will eventually send cards to the bureau. I hope to upload the log to LOTW soon but have had problems doing so. I have uploaded to Club Log and QRZ.com log. Thanks to all who worked me and made a very memorable day at the mic for me!
73 and good DX,Fred
