First licensed in 1988 as KC6BJP. Married to wife Debbie for 41 years. We have one child our daughter Melissa, an optometrist married and living in West Virginia..We have one granddaughter, Sydney age 5. I have one step granddaughter, Madison age 12. I worked as a printing press operator for the County of Sonoma. Now retired as of June 2010.

My ham interests are DXing ( 5 countries to go:3Y0 Bouvet,FR/G,SV/A,ZS8,and YK), contesting and rag chewing. Every year I try to go portable for the California QSO Party contest in October. My home county is Sonoma but I have operated from Yuba(twice),Modoc,Lake,Glenn(three),Del Norte(three),Colusa,Mendocino(twice) ,Sierra , Trinity and Lassen counties. These have all been portable "Field Day Style" camping county expeditions. The most fun I have all year!I enjoy CW mostly but also use SSB.I am a long time member of the Redwood Empire DX Association located north of San Francisco and also the Northern California DX Foundation and the Northern California Contest Club.I have also enjoyed QRP. My age is 65. I also enjoy bicycling (I have ridden the RAGBRAI bicycle ride across Iowa 5 times),, running, backpacking, fishing, and travel. My qth is located about 70 miles(110km) north of San Francisco in the beautiful California "Wine Country". The Pacific Ocean is located about 25 miles(40km) west of here.

The dog with me in the photo was my old dog Molly a Belgian Malinois. She accompanied me on several CQP county expeditions but unfortunately she is a "Silent Key" now.

My current station consists of a Yaesu FT-950 with a Steppir 3 element beam at 15 meters up. I use a trapped inverted vee dipole for 30-40-80 meters. I run barefoot and have never had an amp. (I could use one once in awhile,hi!)

I firmly believe in QSLing but I am known for being a bit slow!! I am currrently working on getting set up on LOTW. Tnx es 73, Fred

As of today 29 January 2014 ALL my logs have been uploaded to LOTW!!!

On 04 June 2014 I had the pleasure of operating N6YEU/4 on Isle of Palms,South Carolina while on holiday with my family. I was able to use the fine station of Steve/AA4V who graciously offered the use of his station to me. This is an IOTA Islands on the Air NA-110 which is part of the South Carolina State Group. This island is just off of Charleston,SC in grid square FM02ct ,Charleston County,CQ Zone 5, ITU Zone 8. I had 328 qsos with 47 DXCC countries and 23 states in just over 4 hours on the air.All qsos were on 17 meter phone. Great fun! I will honor all direct qsls and will eventually send cards to the bureau. I hope to upload the log to LOTW soon but have had problems doing so. I have uploaded to Club Log and  QRZ.com log. Thanks to all who worked me and made a very memorable day at the mic for me!

73 and good DX,Fred
